Brunnthal/Munich, Germany, 13 October 2022 – SFC Energy's development partner TEST-FUCHS has won the Karl-Ritter-von-Ghega Innovation Award 2022 of the Chamber of Commerce of Lower Austria and the government of Lower Austria for the emission-free, mobile hydrogen power generator H₂Genset.
The award-winning H₂Genset is a product of the development partnership of SFC Energy AG, TEST-FUCHS GmbH and Auto AG Group.
The award is endowed with EUR 10,000 and was presented on 11 October. The renowned innovation prize has been awarded for more than 30 years and honors companies that stand out in particular for their innovative strength and inventive spirit. The award is named after Karl Ritter von Ghega, the builder of the Semmering Railway, which was extremely demanding in terms of engineering technology. Ghega improved well-known technical processes and products and combined them into innovative solutions. Such is the case with the mobile or semi-stationary H₂Genset.
The H₂Genset is composed of EFOY Hydrogen hydrogen fuel cells, hydrogen tanks, and an IoT cloud monitoring system, and in this way provides a self-sufficient, secure, and low-noise energy supply even in large-scale areas without access to the conventional power grid. Unlike conventional gasoline and diesel generators, the H₂Genset is emission-free, low-noise and emits neither environmentally harmful exhaust gases (e.g., CO2, CO or NOX) nor particulate matter.
