Director of Operations (m/f/n)- SFC India (m/f/n)

Position Overview

SFC is searching for a Director of Operations. You will work at our newly established site in Gurgaon, Haryana, reporting to the Group’s Senior Management in Germany. This involves regular traveling to our headquarters. You will take on broad engineering and managerial responsibilities of fuel cell assembly, quality assurance as well as warehousing and logistics. In order for you to be able to fulfill your tasks successfully, you will receive a training at our headquarters in Germany.

The Operations department consists of Production, Logistics and Quality and a team of up to 15 staff members will be recruited at the beginning (with the potential to grow when we expand to bigger platform energy solutions). Operations will be responsible for the assembly and testing of key products of fuel cells for our local partner and customers. The Production is run mostly by manual assembly with pre-mounted parts from headquarters and local suppliers. The Testing of the finished systems is partially automated and is done at testing racks with special in-house software and hardware.

Your part in our team:

• Set-up the required infrastructure to run the newly established business
• Working with our ERP system to guide the material flow process from ordering single parts to sending finished systems to customers
• Being the expert and contact person for production related processes and technical questions
• Lead, oversee and manage the day-to day activities of the production, ensuring that the team meets efficiency, performance and quality goals
• Recruit, onboard and train the departmental staff
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, SFC’s policies and procedures, including ISO standards
• Implement policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations as well as systems for monitoring and managing production activities
• Provide monthly reports on production activities and performance
• Develop plans to achieve team and organizational targets
• Communicate and explain new directives, policies and procedures to the team members; for major changes, meet with the team to explain changes, answer questions and maintain morale
• Control expenses to meet budget constraints
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and suppliers

What you should bring along:

• a university degree in Industrial Engineering with special field of mechanical or electrical engineering or similar
• extensive qualifications and experience in setting-up production, production management and control
• already held senior management positions before and therefore a thorough understanding of Business and Finance
• Possesses strong leadership, communication and organizational skills
• Excellent analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills as well as attention to detail
• Experience with ERP systems, E Sourcing Platforms, Project Management tools, MS Office
• Excellent English skills and valid driving license
