- SFC achieves aggregate growth rate of 4.605 percent from 2003 to 2007
BRUNNTHAL/MUNICH, Germany – October 23, 2008 – SFC Smart Fuel Cell AG, leading supplier of fuel cell products for mobile and off-grid power applications, placed third in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 for 2008. The rankings in the annual list that honors outstanding business achievements by German technology companies are based on aggregate sales growth rates over the last five years, from 2003 to 2007. SFC achieved a growth of 4.605 percent over that period of time.
The rankings were released on Oct. 22 at the official prize gala in Düsseldorf, Germany.
“We are excited about our ranking in the Deloitte Fast 50 list. Our continuous growth over the last five years clearly demonstrates the commercial strength of our fuel cell products in more and more markets, where the availability of reliable and environmentally friendly power far away from the grid is important,” said Dr. Peter Podesser, CEO of SFC Smart Fuel Cell. “We just sold our 10,000th fuel cell and started a new product line specifically for professional users in industrial applications. We also recently opened an office in the United States to support our growth in that important market. With our sound capitalization and our excellent product portfolio we are in a good position for further sustainable sales growth in the coming years.“
“This year’s ranking by Deloitte clearly shows that we are starting into a new age of convergence between proven and alternative technologies“, says Dieter Schlereth, Partner and Head of Technology, Media, and Telecommunications at Deloitte. 'Specialized technology innovations capture the end consumer and business markets, as demonstrated by the impressive growth rates of the Fast 50 nominations, the Rising Stars and the Sustained Excellence winners.“
The average aggregate growth rate of this year’s Fast 50 companies is 913 percent.
