SFC Energy’s EFOY Pro fuel cell generators used to power border protection equipment in Canada

  • Systems power mission-critical physical security applications like covert vehicles and outdoor surveillance configurations
  • Weight savings of up to 90 percent, weeks and months of power autonomy

Brunnthal/Munich, Germany, March 12, 2013 – SFC Energy AG, technology and market leader for portable, mobile, and off-grid power generation and distribution, has sold a series of complete outdoor energy solutions to power mission critical border protection equipment in Canada.

The order has been placed by surveillance technologies expert MC Border Security Inc., Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. MC Border Security Inc. is sales partner of SFC Energy for law enforcement applications in Canada. The company designs, develops and produces miniature video surveillance equipment for police forces, intelligence agencies, special forces, and other government approved organizations worldwide. MC Border Security Inc. uses SFC Energy’s solutions to provide reliable off-grid power to covert investigation and surveillance equipment e.g. video and audio devices.

In many countries national and border security is an organizational priority as a result of the elimination of physical borders to criminality. Surveillance cameras, ground sensors, radio repeaters, radar and communication equipment all need long running off-grid outdoor power to eliminate dangerous remote site visits and to increase security levels.

The small light weight EFOY Pro fuel cell generators provide silent, almost zero-emission, non detectable power, eliminating the frequent swapping of batteries in the field. They are maintenance free, remote-controlled and provide extraordinarily long runtimes for border protection equipment, while at the same time significantly saving weight. In the example of a network camera with router and air card, with a continuous power requirement of 24 watts, the EFOY Pro solution saves 90 percent weight over batteries in a 4 week mission. In this example, a set up with two 28 litre fuel cartridges will deliver power autonomy of up to 15 weeks without requiring any user intervention.

“EFOY Pro fuel cell generators offer decisive advantages over other off-grid power sources: They are weather independent, silent, and produce dependable power, 24/7”, says Dr. Peter Podesser, CEO of SFC Energy. “This makes them the perfect energy solution for reliably powering mission critical equipment anywhere and anytime.”

SFC Energy presents EFOY Pro fuel cell generator power solutions and products that meet military specifications at Border Security Expo in Phoenix, AZ, U.S.A., at their booth no. 223 from March 12 to 13, 2013.
