EFOY COMFORT fuel cell: more flexibility for installation – Knaus Tabbert Group in-stalls EFOY in its Eurostar caravans as a factory-fitted option

  • EFOY COMFORT's longer cartridge connection allows more flexibility for installation
  • Knaus Tabbert is the world's first manufacturer to install EFOY COMFORT as a factory-fitted option

Brunnthal/Munich, Germany, 11/01/2013 – SFC Energy AG, technology and market leader in mobile and off-grid, fuel cell-based power solutions has responded to calls for more flexibility when installing the popular  EFOY COMFORT fuel cell and will be presenting a further product development at the CMT exhibition. A longer cartridge connection will in future enable users to position the M5 or M10 fuel cartridge at a different level to the device itself, allowing the fuel cartridge to be fitted above or below the EFOY COMFORT fuel cell. This is extremely useful in particular where installation space is limited, for example in small vans or sailing boats.

EFOY COMFORT, the light, quiet and proven all-year on-board power supply for leisure applications continues to be supplied in three models with a daily charge capacity of 80, 140 or 210 Ah.

'The longer cartridge connection is our response to the ideas and wishes of our customers in the caravanning and sailing fields. In comparison to other energy solutions we offer with our EFOY COMFORT more flexibility for individual installation situations,' says Dr. Peter Podesser, CEO of SFC Energy AG. 'A number of vehicle manufacturers will already be presenting a fitted fuel cell with longer cartridge connection at the CMT. We are especially pleased that our EFOY COMFORT has now gained a foothold in the area of caravans.'

At this year's CMT, the Knaus Tabbert Group will be showcasing the Eurostar, a modern caravan with a high share of technical equipment to make independent camping a comfortable experience. The EFOY COMFORT 140 is now factory-fitted as a standard component of the Eurostar self-sufficiency package in order to ensure the desired level of comfort. This makes the Knaus Tabbert Group the world's first vehicle manufacturer to offer a fuel cell as a factory-fitted option in a caravan.

'Having used EFOY fuel cells in our mobile homes for a number of years and seen how satisfied our customers are, we are now delighted to be able to present a solution in the form of the EFOY COMFORT fuel cell that will allow our customers to enjoy dependable self-sufficiency in their caravans as well. The proven reliability and optimum handling of this power supply have convinced us, and we are certain that we can provide our customers with a huge added benefit in this way,' says Markus Pangerl, Head of Product Management for caravans and mobile homes at the Knaus Tabbert Group.
