Since his appointment as CEO of SFC Energy in November 2006, Dr Peter Podesser has been steering the company’s growth from a Munich-based fuel cell technology start-up to the leading suppliers of hybrid power systems for off-grid and emergency power applications worldwide. With over 38,000 systems sold, SFC is today the market leader in the sales of fuel cells to safety and industrial markets, as well as to the leisure markets. Dr Podesser has overseen the company’s strong growth, successful stock market listing and subsequent acquisitions in Europe and Canada.
Prior to joining SFC, Dr. Podesser served as President of Oerlikon Wafer Processing, the Semiconductor Group of Swiss Conglomerate Oerlikon in the US and in Switzerland as well as CEO & President of EV Group, a Semiconductor Equipment specialist in Austria. Previously he led the built up of the Chinese and Asian business of RHI AG, a worldwide leading supplier of refractory materials, living in China and Singapore at this time.
Dr Peter Podesser holds a Master’s degree in commercial sciences from the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU), where he also completed his doctorate. He speaks German, English, French, Spanish and Portuguese.
Since May 2017, Gerhard Inninger has been Group CFO in charge of the finances of SFC Energy AG and the SFC group of companies. Alongside proven expertise as a financial director with stock exchange-listed companies, Inniger has many years of experience in the expansion and management of international company organisations, M&A transactions, corporate restructuring and corporate integration. He had already worked at SFC between 2011 and 2014. Latterly, he instigated a shielding process for an SME automotive supplier as part of his role as Finance Director. Together with the CEO, Inniger is safeguarding the implementation of SFC Energy AG’s chosen growth strategy while simultaneously improving the company’s overall cost structures.
Gerhard Inniger has a degree in fiscal economics and has passed the tax consultancy examination. He speaks German and English.
Since March 2017, Marcus Binder has been responsible as Chief Sales Officer (CSO) for SFC Energy AG’s national and international defence and security business. Before joining SFC Energy, Marcus Binder worked for 13 years as a military officer and latterly as Head of the Product Lifecycle Management business unit at ESG Elektronikisystem- und Logistik GmbH – a systems supplier in the fields of defence & public security, cyber / IT and automotive.
Marcus Binder has officer’s training, experience of international assignments and holds a diploma in electrical engineering from the Military University in Munich. He speaks German and English.
As CSO Power, Hans Pol is responsible for the international sales of the industrial market. Hans Pol joined the SFC Group in 2011. As one of the co-founders and managing directors of the PBF Group, which he founded from a management buy-out, he led the company to sustainable, profitable growth. After joining SFC, he was appointed Sales Director of the entire SFC Group, playing a major part in the development of the group’s industrial and defence business in the domain of off-grid energy solutions.
Hans Pol has a degree in electrical engineering. He speaks German, English and Dutch.
Since April 2017, Martin Curtis has been President Oil & Gas of SFC Energy. He joined the SFC Group as VP Sales and Marketing for the oil & gas market in 2016. Prior to this, Martin Curtis was General Manager West at the Westburne Electric Division of Rexel and Sales Manager Western Canada for Rockwell Automation. He brings with him to Simark Controls over 30 years of practical and sales experience relating to automation and power supply solutions in the oil and gas industry, production and mining.
Martin Curtis has graduated from the Electronics Computer Technology programme at the Sir Sanford Fleming University in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, and has completed numerous business, sales and marketing courses. He speaks English.
