EFOY in place of Max Power Marine Fuel Cells (MFC)

Max Power, a Navimo Group company, and SFC Energy (SFC) have taken the decision to distribute EFOY fuel cells in lieu and in place of Max Power Marine Fuel Cells (MFC) in the marine market as of 1st October 2009. The EFOY range includes the EFOY 900, EFOY1600 and the most powerful EFOY 2200 which will be available as usual via Navimo’s international distribution network. All new EFOY generations include the marine specific features of the MFC plus all new features of the latest firmware that provides the end-user with higher efficiency fuel usage and less fuel consumption.

This decision comes as the result of a five year partnership between Max Power and SFC in which the MFC fuel cell was developed and adapted specifically for the marine market by SFC. At the time of launch the Max Power Marine Fuel Cell was rewarded with the METS 2004 Dame innovation award.

Max Power and the Navimo Group have believed in the future development of fuel cells on recreational boats right from the start and have acted as pioneers to promote and demonstrate the product to boat builders and racers, at a time when clean energy was only starting to be a concern.  Building on a long lasting partnership with Francis Joyon, (record breaker around the world and first “clean” voyage on trimaran IDEC) and Armel Le Cléac’h, (2nd in last Vendée Globe), the Navimo Group introduced the fuel cell on many racing boats and contributed to the public awareness of such advanced onboard technology.
