Brunnthal, 10th September 2007 – SFC Energy AG,  the leading global manufacturer of methanol fuel cell systems for mobile and remote energy supply and Webasto AG, Stockdorf, one of the leading suppliers to the automotive and leisure vehicle industry, plan on a long-term cooperation for the equipping of leisure vehicles.
It is intended that in the future SFC will supply EFOY fuel cells via Webasto, manufactured in series, for the equipping of leisure vehicles. Additionally, the cooperation, in a regional sales organisation, will in the future give SFC a stronger presence for its products in the accessories follow-up market.
Within the recreational vehicle market, estimated by market specialists to consist of more than 1 million vehicles in Europe, Webasto, known as one of the market leaders for heating solutions in the automotive industry, is providing innovative comfort solutions under a global gas free strategy. The SFC fuel cell system is a perfectly fitting component to that strategy. “Through this strategy, we will offer a solution which is space-saving, low-emission emitting and powerful, allowing for the mobility and highest comfort to our customers”, says Phillip A. Thompson, Board Member of Webasto AG.
While providing an environmentally friendly source of energy, SFC’s fuel cells offer a preferred high level of comfort and SFC will be a valuable partner of „Webasto Global Comfort Solutions“. “The technological advance of our fuel cells enables gas free energy supply for recreational vehicles. The planned cooperation with Webasto in the “Gas Free” concept and in further regions for the accessories market marks another milestone for our company’s commercial success”, says Dr. Peter Podesser, CEO of SFC Energy AG.
SFC is looking to achieve a triple digit percentage sales growth rate in the current fiscal year. In the first half of 2007 the company has already increased its sales, compared to the previous year, by 150 per cent to 7.5 million Euros.
