Brunnthal, Germany, August 26, 2005 – SFC, the world’s leading supplier of commercial fuel cells for mobile applications, today announces the introduction of a Europe-wide methanol fuel distribution network. From September 2005, SFC’s convenient methanol fuel cartridges will be available at over 200 sales points from Portugal to Poland and from Italy to Norway.

 

This broad coverage ensures that users of SFC’s fuel cells in motor homes will now be able to enjoy the absolute independence and comfort provided by SFC’s fuel cells even on the longest trips throughout Europe.

 

At first, the cartridges will be available at international Hymer retail stores. In a second step, SFC fuel cartridges will also be offered at other outlets like selected campgrounds and service stations.

All SFC fuel cells are fuelled by methanol, which is supplied to the end customer in convenient, 5 litre cartridges. One cartridge will provide between 4 to 14 days complete mains independence depending on individual energy consumption. The cartridge is priced at EUR 19.90 retail. This translates into a fuel cost of EUR 2 to 5 per day.

 

 

 

SFC recently announced the integration of their SFC A50 fuel cell as standard feature into the prestigious Hymer “S Class”, the most sophisticated motor home Hymer, Europe’s leading Recreational Vehicle Manufacturer, has to offer. For its “B Class” and “B-StarLine” of motor homes, Hymer offers the availability of the SFC A50 as a factory fitted option. This world premiere clearly signals the growing commercial importance of methanol fuel cells.
