  • Dr. Peter Podesser joined SFC Energy AG in November 2006 as CEO. He applies his international expertise in the establishment of fast growth technology companies to grow SFC into a successful industrial enterprise.

Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Dr. Mueller's professional passion is translating the fascinating SFC technology into real, commercial products. He is committed to ongoing cost reduction, continued increase in performance and to further miniaturization of SFC's fuel cell systems. As early as 1996, Dr. Mueller got involved in the development of DMFC technology and thus is one of its pioneers. 

Career Overview

  • Daimler Chrysler AG (1996 - 2001), Ulm Research Center , Research area alternative en-gines
    Head of the DMFC development program in direct cooperation with Ballard Power Systems, Vancouver
    Responsible manager for the development, construction and testing of the world's first DMFC systems
    Creation and implementation of strategies for cost reduction and hybridization of fuel cell power systems

Education

  • Industrial PhD on the subject "Direct conversion of liquid fuels into electricity" (1999)
  • Studies in South Africa (1994) and Australia (1995)
  • Chemistry degree at the University of Technology - RWTH Aachen  (1991 - 96)

Additional Information

  • Author of numerous patents and publications in DMFC technology and fuel cells in general
  • Several awards for pioneering the commercialization of fuel cells
  • Member of advisory board for Federal Minister of Environmental Affairs (2007-2009)
  • Dr. Mueller has headed research and development at SFC Energy since 2001. He joined SFC in 2001 as Director R&D. In 2004 he joined the board of directors. In his position of COO he is responsible for technology, research and development as well as operations.
