The FC 250 fuel-cell system by SFC

The FC 250 fuel-cell system has a nominal output of 250 watts, giving it a daily charging capacity of 6 kilowatt hours. It can power equipment on large military vehicles or do duty as a field generator. It has been designed especially for military applications including test scenarios in which data on new defense systems need to be collected and evaluated in the field.
 
The FC 250 fuel-cell system replaces two battery boxes, each weighing 70 kg (154 lbs). Each battery box is only capable of powering devices for 12 hours whereas the FC 250 fuel-cell system, using a single 28 l (7.4 gallon) fuel cartridge, can supply electrical power to field devices for up to 100 hours at a nominal continual output of 250 watts. One person can easily replace the fuel cartridge after which time, the FC 250 fuel-cell system will run another 100 hours completely independently.
 
The FC 250 fuel-cell system consists of three 90 W fuel-cell modules. It is capable of powering both 12 V and 24 V devices directly. The devices simply connect to the front of the system. Two built-in BB-2590 batteries cover start-up and peak loads. The system possesses a fully automatic water-management system to enable continual operation at ambient temperatures up to 50° C.
