Advantages of the FC 250 fuel-cell system as a field generator for defense applications

The FC 250 fuel-cell system offers a number of important benefits as a field generator for all kinds of defense purposes.

• Quiet – Since power generation in the FC 250 is based on a chemical process that completely dispenses with moving parts, it is extremely quiet. That’s a particular advantage on missions in which electrical devices and generators must remain undetected.
• Maintenance free – The FC 250 is totally maintenance free. There is no need for intervention of any kind. Only the fuel cartridge requires replacing from time to time, whenever the system notifies the user that it’s time for a new cartridge. Replacing one is only a matter of seconds and can be accomplished while the cell is running (Hot Swap).
• Completely independent, Plug & Play – The FC 250 comes complete in a sturdy housing. Just connect it to a 12- or 24-volt battery and the FC 250 automatically takes care of the rest.
• Safe – The FC 250’s only “emissions” are water vapor and carbon dioxide in an amount comparable to a human’s breathe. Thanks to their safety valve, the TÜV-certified SFC fuel cartridges prevent users from ever coming into contact with methanol.
• Logistical advantages –SFC fuel cartridges possess all necessary clearances for transportation by sea, land, or air.
• Light weight, but lots of energy – A 28-liter fuel cartridge weighing a mere 24 kg (53 lbs) has enough capacity for more than31 kWh. A single fuel cartridge is thus sufficient to power devices more than 100 hours. To provide the same amount of energy using batteries, you would have to transport 581 kg (1280 lbs)!
• Rugged and durable – The FC 250 has been specially designed for defense applications. It can do duty in rough terrain regardless of the weather or season. Drop tests have shown that it can also survive a fall from a vehicle with no problem.
